Hydrangeas and Cardinals Wedding

This wedding order started out as a small cutting cake, topped with real hydrangeas, a few cupcakes for guests and possibly a grooms cake. After a tasting consultation and a review of my drawings, it ended up a grand, wonderful affair.

I made hundreds of gorgeous hydrangea blossoms in all different shades of blues - from lavender to green tints - to look like real flowers. The main wedding cake was Vegan Chocolate cake with Vegan Peppermint buttercream. Mini Orange Dream and Red Velvet cupcakes were each topped with a single flower. Standard sized
Lemon Berry Twist cupcakes were piped to look like hydrangeas.

The groom's cake was a surprise gift to the groom. He's a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan so a Chocolate Manhattan 8" cake was topped with a carved 5" baseball cap cake and adorned with baseballs, bats and the number "5" - an homage to his favorite player, Albert Pujols. Red Velvet cupcakes decorated like baseballs completed the table spread.

Congratulations Erin & Brett!

Putting the finishing touches on the wedding cake.

There was a mixture or standard and mini cupcakes.

Guinea Pig Birthday Cake

Cute, cute, cute! I love guinea pigs and I absolutely LOVED making this cake for Nero's 2nd Birthday! Nero is a class pet and his teacher contacted me to make a fruit-filled cake and cupcakes for his class to enjoy. Blueberry cake, stuffed with Strawberry Lemonade Buttercream and coated in Vanilla Buttercream was topped with a handmade fondant sculpture of Nero and some of his favorite fruit and veggies. Mini Blueberry cupcakes with Strawberry Lemonade Buttercream topped with fresh raspberries were served to the kiddos.

Button Flowers Cake

This cute cake was created for a orange, green and purple birthday party for a little girl. The bright flowers and buttons are textured with stripes and dots and remind me of fun fabrics and scrapbook pages. This theme would look great in any color and for different occasions.

Mini Partying Dinosaurs

These mini versions of the original Party Dinos were created for a kid's birthday party. Everything is vegan: Vegan Chocolate cupcakes with Vegan Cinnamon Frosting, topped with handmade fondant toppers (all the fondant I use is vegan).

Guinness Groom's Cake

This Groom's cake was carved Guinness Chocolate cake, with Irish Cream Buttercream and a extra rich Chocolate Frosting with hand-piped details. Not a bit of fondant was used to create this decadent dessert. Delicious!

Burning Man Cake

You have to love getting a call from a customer requesting a Burning Man cake for her dad's birthday - or at least, I do! Burning Man is a yearly ritual for her parents and I was asked to create an amazing little cake to celebrate their time there. Their RV, Jeep, bike, outfits and even German Shepherd wearing goggles were created by hand and adorned the colorful cake. Desert sunset colored bands were wrapped around the cake and "dirt" was created with crushed graham crackers. This was a custom flavored cake, Lemon Basil cake stuffed with Strawberry Rhubarb filling and topped with Lemon Buttercream.

Underwater Train Ride Cakes

What do you make for a two year old that loves octopi and trains? Why, the Underwater Express, of course! Cute, hand-painted, 2D fondant accents cover these 5" personal cakes. The purple octopus has room to hold her candle and tops one of the cakes, while the choo-choo train wraps around the other cake and is bursting with fun sea creatures.

Easter Butterfly Cake

Perfect for Springtime, this Easter Butterfly cake has soft pastel-colored, hand-painted butterflies that shimmer in the light. The elegant butterflies go wonderfully with the swirly and rustic frosting.
