The force is strong with these - Star Wars cupcakes, take 2!

You might remember the original Star Wars cupcakes. I made those for my husband's birthday, before Stuffed Cakes was even an idea - let alone a company. They were one of reasons I started thinking about starting this company and within a month I was taking classes and honing my skills. I look at them now and realize just how far I and Stuffed Cakes has come in one little year.

I loved having the chance to re-work these cupcakes. They have always been popular, but I knew what I wanted to do better. I wanted to combine the use of fondant with frosting to give these characters some whimsy, yet refine them. I couldn't be happier of how they turned out - and more importantly everyone loved them!

Tomorrow my baby, Stuffed Cakes, turns ONE! It's funny, I think I am reminiscing about this year as much as I do each year when our kiddo has a birthday. I'm thinking about all the good times of the year, all the speed bumps and what I have learned as Stuffed Cakes' "mom." I've nurtured this "newborn" and have learned what it needs to thrive. I can't wait to see what the next year brings. May the force be with us!

Boxed up and ready to go!

I can't help but hum the Imperial March.

Best Buy Cupcakes

We get many requests for corporate cakes and cupcakes delivered as birthday and thank you gifts. You can customize them however you wish. These cupcakes were made for Best Buy and feature hand-painted logos.

Rose Wedding Cutting Cake

This sweet and romantic little cake was created for a cutting cake for a summer wedding in a garden. Margarita cake with tequila lime buttercream piped in big rose shapes all over the cake.

Goodbye High School, Hello College Cupcakes

These cupcakes were created for a high school grad that is starting college in the fall. Cute mortar board caps and "2011" toppers in green and yellow were created to celebrate ending high school. Gray and crimson, hand-painted cougar toppers were created to celebrate starting at Washington State University. I love the use of school colors to make these toppers extra special.

Summer BBQ Cake

One of the great perks of having a summer birthday are the wonderful outdoor birthday parties in the sun. This colorful BBQ birthday cake is complete with a charcoal grill, croquet, horseshoes, flowers, dragonflies, bumble-bees and butterflies!

Kitty Cat Cake

This cute cake was jazzed up with a simple cat and ball of yarn. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to customize a cake, this topper (which is slightly bigger than a cupcake topper) was only $10.

Summer Flowers Wedding Cupcakes

I made twelve dozen tasty Minis for a gorgeous, outdoor, summer wedding: Triple Coconut, Inside Out Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Mint and Spiced Carrot Cake (a custom flavor for Stuffed Cakes). Beautiful flowers in blues, corals and yellows topped the Chocolate Mint and Spiced Carrot Cake cupcakes to tie in with the wedding colors.

Bon Voyage Suitcase Cake

This fun suitcase cake was made for a couple that was retiring and love to travel. I made the "stickers" out of fondant and hand-painted each one based on places they have lived, been to, or are planning on traveling to. Matching passports were painted in gold with their names. This cake is full of detail - from the stitching on the handle to the little gold, button feet. What a wonderful send-off to their new retired lives together.
