This is the first time I made Totoro and honestly, I didn't know anything about this cute lil' monster until these cakes. The cake designs were based on another cake artist and I made two-dozen cupcakes to match. Super cute - they make me ready for back to school with their summery trees and cute little acorns. Maybe the Catbus will pick my kiddo up for school in a couple of weeks!

Hand Painted Cutting Cake to Match Invitations

I absolutely love when customers provide their invitations as inspiration for their cake. Many times I pull parts from the invite - colors, the main graphic, patterns, the over-all feel.

This wedding cutting cake was created to make the invitation come to life! I hand-painted the flowers on the cake, keeping with the original artist's style. I added edible glitter to each of the flower centers to really make them pop!

Favorite Pets Cake

This cake was a surprise for my best friend's 40th birthday. Animals mean more to him than anything else, so I figured the best cake would honor some of his pets over the years. It consists of: a tabby cat, boxer, bearded collie, pug, mutt, gerbil, hamster, and two axolotls. There wouldn't have been room for all of the other cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, frogs, turtle, hedgehog or more; so I went with the ones that have meant the most to him. The best part is that all of the hand-made figurines were saved so he could keep them - a perfect keepsake!
