Colorful Birthday Cakes

I was excited to create these fun cakes for some friends of mine. Both are graphic designers (like most of my friends) and they were celebrating their daughter's first birthday. I loved the custom icon they created of their little girl's face and I wanted to play up the bright colors of their party with bright white graphic patterns. The combination of cakes and cupcakes were stunning!

August's Flavor of the Month - Banana Split

Our amazing banana cake is topped with Vanilla buttercream,
drizzled with dark chocolate ganache, sprinkled with peanuts and topped with a cherry!

Dots and Heart Cake

This sweet little cake was made for a baby shower celebrating the mom-to-be. The host knew she was having a baby girl, but didn't want the cake to be overly girlie and she didn't want a baby theme. Soft green and lavender dots cover this 5" round cake and one little pink heart is nestled in, safe and sound. This would make a wonderful gift for many occasions.

July's Flavor of the Month - Rootbeer Float!

Nothing is more refreshing during summer than a big frosty mug, foaming over with a root beer float. We have been waiting for months for July's flavor and spent lots of time perfecting it just for you. Smooth Root Beer cake is stuffed with Root Beer Whipped Cream and topped with our delicious Vanilla buttercream.

Ladybug In The Grass Cake

It's summertime, which means outdoor parties, laying in the grass and cute little ladybugs. Or big ladybugs on top of a cake! This cute ladybug is our yummy Caramel Lovers cake and perfect for those summertime birthdays.

Dashboard Hula Girl Cake

This fun birthday cake takes us all right to Hawaii. A dashboard hula girl on top of a little island in the sea on top of the cake is encircled with hibiscus flowers, palm trees and even a ukulele. Playful, colorful and delicious! Aloha!

Reds, Pinks and Purples Ombre Cake

These cakes were created for a little girl's first birthday, with a hot air balloon theme all in shades of reds, pinks and purples. We wanted to create something different, pretty and girlie and the customer did not want balloons on the cake. I took inspiration from an AMAZING Ombre Rainbow Cake (by Rise & Shine Bakery) and created this 10" round cake and mini 5" baby cake. Thousands of hand-piped dots later, and they had two stunning cakes that fit in perfectly with their theme!

Dora The Explorer Backpack Cake and Toppers

This backpack cake and custom Dora toppers were made for a little girl's 2nd birthday. The bright colors and expressive faces really bring these cute cupcakes and cake to life. By the time I was done making the backpack, I was ready for it to start talking to me! This is a great example of how one cake and one dozen cupcakes can really be the star of the show (well, next to the birthday girl, of course).

June's Flavor of the Month: ROLO!

All month long we'll have Rolos in the shop! Rich chocolate cake stuffed with caramel sauce, topped with creamy caramel buttercream and rolled in chocolate sprinkles. Trust me, you'll want more than one.

May's Flavor of the Month - Margarita!

It's back! This month's flavor of the month is one of my personal favorites...

MARGARITA!

A sweet-tart cake, full of flavor because there's really a margarita in it.
It's full of tequila, triple sec and lime and sprinkled with sea salt. Muy bueno!
